On October 25, 2013, Dr. Tigani spoke at Fordham University in New York City. He lectured to the pre-dental club students about the application process to dental school and the current trends in dental schools.  He also spoke about the state of dentistry, itself, and the interaction between dentistry and the general community across the United States.

Doctor, Doctor

Judging from a couple of local families, you'd think there was  genetic predisposition for going into medicine. Take the Tigani siblings. Stephen Tigani of Bethesda is an orthodontist. His brother Robert joined their late father's dental practice in 1984 and eventually took over the Bethesda and D.C. offices. Brother Michael is a Chevy Chase ophthalmologist and sister Marie Tigani Stiles practices dentistry in Gaithersburg with her husband. Stephen remembers their dad discussing patients at home. "But once we all became physicians and dentists our mother outlawed all talk of medicine at the dinner table"
